SEO Expert Advice How To Assign The Right Number of Keywords On your Page

Keywords are what we type in every day as we search for products, services, and answers on any search engines. Assigning the right number of keywords in your work is no easy task. The concept of keywords is the single concept that has driven the better part of internet’s growth over the last decade. It is recorded that nearly all of Google’s annual revenue is derived from keywords.

Most companies optimize their web pages for search by assigning the required keywords to those pages. For this one reason, it becomes a hard task to pick the right keywords. Keyword selection is central to success when it comes to executing a search or campaign.

Are Keywords just for SEO?

Keywords are not just for SEO purposes. They are what identify a company’s marketing campaign at its most basic level. Unless you identify the most important keywords for your company, it is very hard to effectively market your services or products to the audience you are targeting.  Understanding the right words to use to describe your goods or services is ideal for creating a suitable market.

A guide to selecting the right keywords to build your online marketing

  • Focus on the right phrases – In the Search Engine Marketing, a keyword is very vital. An inaccurate term will cause your business to crumble and lack direction. Many times, people often over think even when undertaking the most basic keyword search. To find the right phrase does not mean you over think, it simply means you understand what product or service you are selling. Once you have those well understood, then you can work on finding the right phrases to best describe what you sell. To find this best keyword, sometimes it is not obvious and we have to include bigger, broader root keywords that will drive the point home to the buyer on the other end searching for these products.
  • Avoid Misplaced keywords – These misplaced keywords are also known as vanity keywords because they do not rank high unless the site is a highly authoritative one. This is because Google only rewards such keywords to websites that match the website addresses. Any SEO expert will tell you it is better to focus on hundreds or even thousands of more specific keywords that closely match the products or services than remain fixated on the single vanity keyword.
  • Use Google’s wonder wheel wisely – The wonder wheel works by carrying out a normal search and then selecting ‘wonder wheel’ under the filter choices on the left-hand side of navigation. Google then presents to you the visual representation of its keywords groupings. When you start a simple search, you tend to get related terms that help you identify the right keywords to focus on. Allow your business to be shaped in an overall manner by not limiting yourself to some few words.

What is the right number of keywords on a page?

Most people’s concern is whether it is healthy to repeat keywords? If yes, how many times should they be repeated? The answer is short – repetitions are fine but ensure that the meaning of the phrase is varied. It does not matter how many times you input that keyword across your page. It must be sufficiently varied? It is for this sole reason that you want to choose keywords that best relate to the content that you are presenting on a webpage. This way you can repeat your keyword without sounding off topic.

As much as repetition is good, do not overdo it. No one wants to read a keyword every two to three sentences. There is a way you can use a keyword that will not be noticeable except using the search engines. Learning to keep it short and sweet can still apply to keywords writing.  Endeavor to use the keyword to educate and inform your audience not just sell a promotional material without beneficial information. The latter will not find anyone interested but the information packed page will leave you many reviews and buyers at the same time. When you follow these few guidelines, you will experience both growth and advancement in the way you view internet marketing.
